The country’s exports from the beginning of January to the end of November 2020 totaled EUR 217.1 billion, while imports were worth EUR 205.8 billion, the state-run statistics agency said.
Poland’s largest export markets during this period were Germany, the Czech Republic and Britain, while Germany, China and Italy were the country’s largest import markets.
Despite the coronavirus crisis, Poland in October exported nearly EUR 23 billion worth of goods, its highest monthly total ever, according to the country’s central bank.
Poland in mid-March temporarily closed its borders to non-residents in a move to curb the spread of the coronavirus and then extended the restriction four times.
The country’s borders stayed open to the movement of goods.
Poland reopened its borders with its European Union neighbors in mid-June.
Poland ended 2019 with a foreign trade surplus of EUR 1.2 billion, according to the Central Statistical Office.
