Polish industrial production up 17.6% y/y in February: stats office

Industrial production in Poland rose 17.6 percent in February compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on Friday.

The reading was higher than forecast by analysts, who had expected an increase of 15.5 percent, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.

In month-on-month terms, Polish industrial production in February was 3.6 percent higher than in January, the Central Statistical Office said.

According to the European Unions Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, industrial production in Poland rose 16.6 percent in January, the third-fastest rate of growth in the 27-nation bloc.
