The reading was 0.2 percentage points higher than a flash estimate of 5.3 percent released by the Statistics Poland (GUS) office earlier this month.

Investment increased by 7.1 percent, private consumption rose 6.4 percent, and domestic demand grew by 7.2 percent in Poland in the second quarter of 2022, Statistics Poland reported.

Poland's gross domestic product expanded by 8.5 percent in the first quarter of 2022, according to the state-run statistics agency.

The European Commission last month raised its forecast for Polish economic growth this year to 5.2 percent, from a previous projection of 3.7 percent.

International ratings agency Fitch in late July affirmed Poland's "A-" credit rating with a stable outlook.

The agency said at the time that it expected Polish GDP growth to average 5.5 percent in 2022, after 5.9 percent growth in 2021.
