The craft, shown publicly for the first time at the 33rd International Defense Industry Exhibition, resembles an armored motorboat and was developed from scratch by Polish engineers, WB representative Remigiusz Wilk said.

WB Group, Poland’s largest private producer of military equipment, described Stormrider as a small vessel that can work with the navy on patrol, observation and deterrence tasks. The firm said the platform can also support special forces and Border Guard units.

According to the company, sea drones of this type can help protect strategic Baltic assets, including seabed energy installations, fuel platforms and planned offshore wind farms.

WB also presented new land systems under its Future Task Force project—an “unmanned platoon” built around a command vehicle and several accompanying effectors that can operate with crews or fully autonomously.

With hybrid propulsion, a silent mode and broad configurability, the vehicles are designed for reconnaissance, transport, combat and evacuation missions.

WB said payload options include a heavy machine-gun turret, scatterable mine launchers and launch systems for Warmate drones.
