The visit coincided with the second anniversary of the parliamentary election that brought his Civic Coalition to power.

Tusk said the plant would generate enough electricity to power 12 million households, underscoring the scale and significance of the project.

He called the facility “one of the most important sites for Poland’s future,” adding that the government plans "major investments in roads and railways" to ensure nearby communities and workers benefit from the project.

He pointed to the strategic importance of northern Poland, noting that some of the largest offshore wind farms in this part of Europe were being built in the Baltic Sea near the plant.

Poland on track for dynamic growth: PM

The prime minister said the construction of the nuclear power plant “perfectly reflects the scale of change” that has taken place in Poland since the October 15, 2023 elections.

He told reporters that the country is now on track for dynamic economic growth thanks to government policies.
