On Tuesday, several major platforms - including Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter), which stopped displaying new posts - were affected for a period of time.

Cloudflare confirmed a global outage and stated that they are working to resolve the issue.

“Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers ,” the company said in a statement.

The firm indicated that the errors involved “Widespread 500 errors, as well as outages of the Cloudflare Control Panel and API.”

“We are working to understand the full impact of the issue and to mitigate it. More information will be provided soon,” Cloudflare added.

According to data from downdetector.pl - which itself was temporarily affected - the problems impacted not only X, but also OpenAI, Amazon, and Canva, among others.

There has also been a significant increase in reports for services such as BLIK, Google, and other platforms.

In its latest update, Cloudflare reported that some affected websites are gradually coming back online.

“Customers may still experience higher-than-normal error rates as we continue our remediation efforts,” the company said.

Cloudflare is an American IT company specializing in internet content delivery and server services. The company reportedly handles up to 20% of all websites globally.
