Minister Gawkowski affirmed Poland’s robust cybersecurity capabilities, stating that the country can now repel 99% of cyberattacks. He also highlighted the close collaboration of national-level CSIRT teams and the operational role of the Joint Cybersecurity Operations Centre, which monitors Poland’s cyberspace around the clock, responding to disinformation, incidents, and facilitating information exchange.

6,500 soldiers safeguarding Poland’s cyberspace amid ongoing cyber threats

Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz expressed special gratitude to the 6,500 soldiers, mostly officers but also non-commissioned officers of all ranks, serving in the Polish Armed Forces’ Cyber Defence Component, which protects the country’s cyberspace.

The politician noted that for over three years, Poland’s cyber forces have been constantly detecting and responding to numerous cyber incidents around the clock.

Kosiniak-Kamysz drew a historical parallel to the heroic defense of Warsaw against the Bolshevik invasion 100 years ago, stressing that today, Poland’s Cyber Defence Forces continue that legacy by protecting the nation’s cyberspace. In his opinion, these soldiers defend against adversaries seeking to steal information, exploit it, recruit agents, and build networks threatening Poland’s national security.
