Some half a million Polish visitors travel to Bulgaria annually. Already in May the country declared it was ready to launch its summer season, and June is the time when Poles would normally start arriving on the Black Sea coast.
But not this year, even though Bulgaria opened its borders to this part of Europe and lifted quarantine requirements at the beginning of June. The number of foreign visitors this year is going to be a fraction of the usual, especially since the problem of COVID-19 infections in Bulgaria - as well as in Poland - continues.
