Over 30 hurt after bus collides with trucks in southern Poland

More than 30 people were reported injured, six of them seriously, after a bus collided with two trucks on a road under construction in southern Poland on Thursday afternoon.

Some 40 people, most of them Ukrainian nationals, were traveling on the bus when the accident occurred in Bogusławice near the city of Częstochowa shortly before 2 p.m., public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

It quoted a spokesman for firefighters as saying that one of the trucks caught fire as a result of the collision.

Some 30 fire crews and four medical rescue helicopters were deployed to the scene, state news agency PAP reported.

The road was blocked in both directions, it said.
