Over 17.1 million Poles fully vaccinated for COVID-19: gov't data

A total of 33,945,590 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, including 97,665 over the last 24 hours, officials announced on Wednesday.

Public health authorities said that 13,686 adverse reactions had been reported among those who received the vaccines by Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, a total of 161,555 doses have been wasted in the rollout, according to the Polish health ministry.

As of Wednesday, Poland had injected more than 18.1 million first doses of COVID-19 vaccines, while over 17.1 million people had been fully inoculated, health ministry data showed.

The tally includes two-dose vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca as well as Johnson & Johnson's one-shot vaccine.

Poland on Wednesday reported 138 new coronavirus infections and three more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the country's total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,882,465 and fatalities to 75,252.
