Tennis: Poland’s Linette overpowered in Korea Open final

Poland’s Magda Linette has been overpowered by the Czech Republic’s Karolina Muchova in the final of the WTA Korea Open tennis tournament in Seoul.

Linette, the no. 4 seed, lost 1-6, 1-6 on Sunday in a match that saw the Pole struggling with her serve and her return.

Linette last month lifted her maiden WTA singles trophy at the Bronx Open tournament in New York, and was keen to repeat that feat in Seoul, but was unable to mount a serious threat to Muchova.

The match was Linette’s second encounter with Muchova. In New York she knocked the Czech out of the Bronx Open in the quarterfinals.
