Poland’s Kubot reaches semi-finals in Shanghai tournament

Polish tennis player Łukasz Kubot and Brazil’s Marcelo Melo have advanced to the semi-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 tennis tournament in Shanghai after winning against Croatia’s Ivan Dodig and Slovakia’s Filip Polasek 6:4, 7:6 (7-2) on Friday.

In the first round, the Polish-Brazilian duo defeated Croatian Borna Corica and Chinese Runhao Huo 6:4, 7:5, and in the second round beat India’s Rohan Bopanna and Canada’s Denis Shapovalov 6:4, 3:6, 10-7.

Earlier this month, Kubot and Melo lost against Dodig and Polasek 3:6, 6:7 (4-7), thus failing to defend their title in the doubles in the ATP tournament on hard courts in Beijing.
