The top-seeded Polish-Brazilian duo dispatched India's Rohan Bopanna and Canada’s Denis Shapovalov 6-0, 6-4 in their quarterfinal match in the Austrian capital on Thursday.

Kubot and Melo will now play France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut for a place in the final.

The Pole and the Brazilian saw off Argentina’s Máximo González and Guido Pella, 6-2, 6-3, in the tournament’s round of 16 on Monday.

Kubot and Melo earlier this month reached the final of the Shanghai Masters tournament in China, but failed to defend the title they had won there last year.

Meanwhile, the Polish-Brazilian doubles team has already qualified for the season-ending ATP Finals in London.

This prestigious tournament, to be held by the Association of Tennis Professionals from November 10 to 17, will feature the world's eight best male singles players and doubles teams of the season.

Kubot and Melo are set to play in the ATP Finals as a team for the third year in a row.

The Pole and the Brazilian were in 2017 named the men’s doubles team of the year by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

This year, Kubot and Melo have claimed one ATP doubles title so far, winning the Winston-Salem Open tournament in the US state of North Carolina in August.
