The ATP Challenger Tour event was called off in the northern Polish seaside resort after the Association of Tennis Professionals decided to extend its cancellation of all professional tournaments until July 31, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The BNP Paribas Sopot Open organisers said they were determined to hold the tournament next year.

"Despite the difficult time we’re all experiencing, we remain determined and motivated to ensure our tournament next year provides fans with even more excitement and emotion," said the tournament’s director and ex-tennis player Mariusz Fyrstenberg.
