With 23 goals for Germany’s Bayern Munich, the Pole comfortably leads the race for the European Golden Shoe award for the top scorer of the 2020/2021 season.

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is in second place, with 15 strikes for Italian side Juventus.

Lewandowski found the back of the net as his Bayern Munich side beat Schalke 4-0 in a German Bundesliga match on Sunday.

Last season, Lewandowski finished runner-up in the European Golden Shoe race, behind Ciro Immobile of Italian outfit Lazio.

The Poland captain last month won FIFA’s 2020 Best Men’s Player award, beating Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi.

Lewandowski was also named Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai in December.

The awards capped off a remarkable year for the Polish marksman, who scored 47 goals in 44 games for his club and country in 2020.
