Football: Poland move up to No. 26 in FIFA rankings

Poland have moved up two spots to No. 26 in the latest world football rankings, which were released after a series of World Cup playoffs.

The Polish team, captained by star striker Robert Lewandowski, qualified for this year’s World Cup in Qatar after defeating Sweden 2-0 in a playoff at home on Tuesday.

Brazil are at the top of the FIFA rankings, followed by Belgium, who finished third at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

World champions and UEFA Nations League winners France are at No. 3, ahead of Argentina in fourth spot.

The 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.

Poland's lowest place in the world rankings was 78th, in 2013.
