Seven world championship medals for Polish canoers, kayakers

Polish canoers and kayakers claimed a total of seven medals, three gold, three silver and one bronze, at this year’s Canoe Sprint World Championships in Halifax, Canada.

On Sunday, the last day of the championships, Poland’s kayak duo of Karolina Naja and Anna Puławska took the gold in the women's K2 500 m event, while Aleksander Kitewski, Arsen Śliwiński, Wiktor Głazunow and Norman Zezula finished runner-up in the men’s C4 1000 m.

In another Polish podium finish on Sunday, Sylwia Szczerbińska, Aleksandra Jacewicz, Katarzyna Szperkiewicz and Julia Walczak took the bronze in the women’s C4 500 m.

Meanwhile, Poland's Kitewski and Szczerbińska took the bronze in the C2 Mix 500 m event.

On Saturday, Poland's Karolina Naja, Anna Puławska, Adrianna Kąkol and Dominika Putto grabbed the gold in the women’s K4 500 m, and Oleksii Koliadych added another in the men’s C1 200 m.

Meanwhile, Wiktor Głazunow and Tomasz Barniak earned a silver for Poland in the men's C2 500 m.

The 2022 Canoe Sprint World Championships took place in Canada from August 3 to 7.
