President Duda, an avid skier himself, joined the annual 12H Slalom Marathon at Kasprowy Wierch, near the southern Polish mountain resort of Zakopane, on Sunday.

Addressing the gathered crowds, President Duda expressed his gratitude "for being able to patronize the Slalom Marathon once again."

Standing atop the peak of Kasprowy Wierch, he remarked on the significance of the event being held on one of Poland's most revered mountains and on such "a challenging slope."

President Duda emphasized the importance of sports therapy for individuals under the care of the foundation benefiting from the event.

He highlighted how engaging in sports helps them "excel, find pleasure, and experience joy in life."

The 12H Slalom Marathon Zakopane event is organized annually by former Polish Olympic Alpine skier Małgorzata Tlałka-Długosz to raise funds for a charitable foundation supporting children and young people with disabilities.

Following the opening ceremony, President Duda signed his starting number and skis, which will be auctioned off to raise further funds for the foundation's activities.
