Described by the singer as “a musical picture of a male lover in the Baroque era,” it features a selection of arias by Handel, Cavalli, Scarlatti, Bononcini, Conti, Hasse, Orlandini, Predieri and Matteis.

Eight of these are world premiere recordings.

Orliński is partnered by the instrumentalists of Il Pomo d’Oro and their Principal Conductor Maxim Emelyanychev.

Facce d’amore is Orliński’s second solo album, following the highly acclaimed Anima Sacra, released on the same label in 2018.

Orliński is one of the most sought-after countertenors in today’s music circuit. Earlier this year he won the Classical Music Award from Britain's Gramophone magazine in the Young Artist of the Year category.

In a review of his role of Rinaldo in Handel’s opera at the Glyndebourne Festival in England last summer, a Financial Times critic wrote: “Jakub Józef Orliński is the new countertenor on the block. In the short time that he was been singing at the top level he has matured at speed and his Rinaldo is the number one reason for catching this run of performances.”
