Antonowicz confirmed earlier reports to Polish media, saying that, because of the confidential nature of her contract, she cannot reveal any details relating to her role in the film.

“Keep you fingers crossed. I’m working on the set in London until February 25,” she added.

Born in 1981 in Włocławek, northern Poland, Antonowicz graduated in 2004 with an acting degree from the National Film School in Łódź, central Poland.

After several seasons in Polish theatres, as well as in Polish film and television productions, she moved to Germany, where she achieved considerable popularity for her roles in several TV series.

She has also appeared in European feature films, including Peter Greenaway's Nightwatching and Remembrance, directed by Anna Justice.

Antonowicz was nominated for the German Television Awards in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in the TV series Bella Block.

Meanwhile, the new names in the cast of ‘The Crown’ also include Poland’s Więcławski.

His entrance into the film world is anything but typical. With a BSc in chemical technology from the Warsaw University of Technology, Więcławski is currently a student at the London College of Music.

Commenting on his role in The Crown, the 26-year-old Pole wrote on social media: “The actors and crew are great, the scale of this production is impressive. This is a dream lesson for an acting student. A year ago I was watching the show, and after a few months I became a part of it myself. Shocking.”
