Netflix, the world’s second largest entertainment company, has announced that ‘The Witcher’ is set to return for the fourth season, as Geralt of Rivia continues his adventures.

The show is to see a major change in the cast – Henry Cavill who played the eponymous hero decided to step down as the Witcher and make his return as the Superman.

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4," the British actor said.

He added that Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf and that it’s with great enthusiasm that he’ll ‘see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men.’

The new pick for the role said he’s “over the moon” to play Geralt and that he’s “truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”

“Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure,” Hemsworth said.

Liam Hemsworth rose to fame playing in The Last Song (2010) and The Hunger Games franchise (2013-2015).

Netflix’s production, The Witcher, is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books that have been translated into 20 languages and sold millions of copies worldwide.

He is Poland’s second most translated author after sci-fi writer Stanisław Lem.
