Some 4,000 soldiers from 11 NATO countries are taking part in the manoeuvres, which will run until November 18, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The exercises, called Iron Wolf II, aim to enhance coordination between NATO forces, the agency added.

They are taking place at a training ground 60 km from the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.

Diplomats from various countries, including Poland’s ambassador to Lithuania, Urszula Doroszewska, are expected to observe the manoeuvres on Friday.
