The first to receive the vaccine on Sunday morning was head nurse Alicja Jakubowska, vaccinated by Dr. Artur Zaczyński, head of the Temporary Hospital at Warsaw's National Stadium, part of the CSK MSWiA Interior Ministry hospital.
75 vials of the vaccine - equal to 375 individual doses - were received by the hospital.
By last Wednesday, about 300,000 healthcare workers had already signed up to be inoculated against COVID-19 in the first "zero" stage of the national vaccination programme.
The first coronavirus vaccines had been arriving in Poland this Saturday, with the first 10,000 Polish citizens set to be inoculated a day later.
Priority is given to healthcare staff, followed by residents in nursing homes, people over 60, police, soldiers and teachers.
