The broadcaster said its "New Year's Eve with TVP 2" bash will feature a long lineup of performers led by veteran pop singer Maryla Rodowicz, who has been on the Polish music scene for almost six decades.

Other acts billed include teenage stars Roksana Węgiel and Sara James, alongside a host of popular homegrown dance music performers such as “Disco Polo King” Zenon Martyniuk.

International acts will include Arrival from Sweden, one of the world’s most popular ABBA tribute bands, and German musician Thomas Anders of Modern Talking fame.

TVP CEO Jacek Kurski has said that Zakopane, Poland’s premier mountain and ski resort, is a special place for people to have fun and ring in the new year.

Last year, TVP greeted the new year with a virtual bash without an audience held at an open-air theatre in the northern town of Ostróda.

In 2019, a crowd estimated at 70,000 partied in Zakopane to music by Polish and international performers, with the festivities watched by some 5.8 million TVP viewers on their television screens.
