Poland's Andrzej Duda and Lithuania's Gitanas Nausėda were holding face-to-face talks on the Polish Baltic coast this week to discuss issues including international assistance to Ukraine, according to officials.
Duda said in a tweet on Monday that Poland and Lithuania "have been supporting Ukraine from the very beginning while opposing the tyranny and imperialism of the Kremlin."
The Polish president tweeted that he and Nausėda were discussing and consulting their "most important joint activities" at his vacation residence in Jurata on the Baltic coast.
"I thank my friend Gitanas Nausėda for his visit and very valuable consultations," Duda said.
According to the Polish President's Office, the two leaders were discussing "the situation in Ukraine and Belarus, the energy policies of Poland and Lithuania, security cooperation and European Union sanctions against Russia."
Duda said in a separate tweet on Monday that "the Polish-Lithuanian presidential consultations on the Baltic Sea coast gained a new, symbolic dimension after Poland and Lithuania approved the NATO accession of Finland and Sweden."
Meanwhile, Lithuania's Nausėda tweeted on Monday: "Today had informal talks with my dear friend Andrzej Duda. Unity of Lithuania and Poland stands strong throughout centuries. In a challenging security environment, our friendship and mutual trust are invaluable. Together we are strong."
Earlier this month, Duda and Nausėda together visited the Suwałki Gap, a strategic stretch of land in northeastern Poland near Russia’s westernmost region of Kaliningrad.
