Morawiecki wished Poles a healthy, calm and peaceful Christmas.

I wish you a Christmas full of warmth, joy and reconciliation. May it be a time to enjoy with family, in peace and safety,” the Prime Minister said in a social media video message.

"Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!,” he added.

In the video, Morawiecki also stressed that amid Russia's aggression on Ukraine, the passing year was a difficult one, but Poles showed solidarity with their neighbours.

"United, we opened our hearts and homes to Ukrainians fleeing Russia's barbaric aggression," the Prime Minister said.

Poles traditionally celebrate Christmas with extensive family gatherings, caroling and church services.
