Andrzej Duda will hold a private meeting with his Czech counterpart Miloš Zeman, followed by talks with Prime Minister Petr Fiala, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The Polish and Czech leaders are set to speak about coordinating humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine amid the Russian invasion, according to officials.

Both countries have been at the forefront of helping Poland’s embattled eastern neighbour, reporters were told.

Meeting with UN chief

Duda is travelling to Prague after a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres .

Guterres stopped in Poland in between his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday and a visit to Kyiv for a meeting with Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday, officials told reporters.

As well as discussing the UN chief’s trip to Moscow, Duda assured Guterres that “Poland is ready to support the UN’s humanitarian efforts” in Ukraine, according to the Polish president’s foreign policy aide, Jakub Kumoch.

Wednesday is day 63 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
