“We will provide everything needed and fund demining efforts,” Justin Trudeau was quoted as saying at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Sunday.

Trudeau also said that Canada would temporarily remove trade tariffs on Ukrainian imports and impose new sanctions against Russian oligarchs and close associates of the Russian regime, the ukrinform.net website reported.

"In Kyiv, we announced additional military assistance and humanitarian aid to further support Ukraine," Trudeau said in a tweet.

"We also shared that we will temporarily remove trade tariffs on Ukrainian imports," he added.

He also tweeted: "We saw the destruction caused by Putin, but we also saw the strength and courage of Ukrainians – and as they continue to fight, we’ll continue to support them."

The Canadian government last month announced the delivery of a shipment of howitzers to Ukraine to strengthen its positions on the battlefield with Russia.
