Daryna and her family had left Bucha as the Russian occupiers sowed destruction in the city, killing and torturing thousands of people, Poland’s tvp.info website reported.

When Putin’s troops retreated from Bucha over a month ago, leaving a trail of death and devastation, local people nevertheless began to try and restore some semblance of normal life, according to tvp.info.

Return to Bucha

Daryna’s father came back to Bucha ahead of his family and had the bomb disposal squad twice check the flat for explosives - nothing was found, tvp.info said.

"Not that there was no damage" - the invaders had stolen an accordion, trodden on traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts and ripped up a signed poster of Darina’s favourite pop band, tvp.info reported.

Yet the piano that Daryna has been playing with much success didn't seem to have been tampered with, according to tvp.info.

But then Daryna’s mother saw that the prizes standing on top of the piano had been moved around, tvp.info wrote. "She lifted the lid and … found a bomb inside," it said.

Daryna came within a whisker of losing her life, all because of a brutal, deceitful ploy by Putin’s troops, tvp.info wrote.

Friday was day 79 of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
