After several press articles calling on the government to recognise Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, the US Senate has passed the appropriate resolution.
The US Senate has unanimously approved a resolution calling on Secretary of State Blinken to recognise Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism for its actions in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and Ukraine.
According to The Hill, Putin's terrorist path already began with his actions in Chechnya where he terrorised the civilian population as a means to forcing the capitualtion of the Chechnyan military. Success there, according to the Hill and the authors of today's resolution, encouraged Putin to adopt similar tactics in Ukraine.
