"Within a short time, Denmark is sending 130 military instructors to a British training project," Defence Minister Morten Bodskov said in an interview with the Jyllands-Posten newspaper, as quoted by the Reuters news agency.

Bodskov told the paper that the instructors would provide basic military training of Ukrainian citizens with no or little military experience, including urban combat and tactical operations, according to Reuters.

Denmark will also train Ukrainian military personnel on Danish soil, Bodskov said, adding that the first step would be to educate military officers, Reuters reported.

On Thursday, the Danish, British and Ukrainian defence ministers are expected to discuss long-term support for Ukraine, including military training, mine clearance and weapon supplies, at a conference in Copenhagen, according to Reuters.

The news comes after Sweden said on Sunday it would send up to 120 instructors to Britain to provide military training to Ukrainian citizens to enable them to serve in their country's armed forces.
