Russia’s troop losses in Ukraine surpass 50,000: report

The latest figures were announced by Ukraine’s General Staff on social media, news outlets reported. 

Russia’s troop losses during the invasion of Ukraine now total 50,610, with 460 servicemen killed over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military command said on Wednesday. 

Meanwhile, the Russian army has also lost 2,097 tanks, including 20 in the last 24 hours, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.

The Kremlin’s other equipment losses include 4,520 armoured personnel vehicles, 1,194 artillery systems and 237 aircraft, Ukrainian officials said. 

Wednesday is day 196 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
