"The overnight shelling of residential infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia is yet another example of the barbarism of Russian forces," the Polish foreign ministry said in a Twitter message on Sunday.
"We strongly condemn all attacks targeting the civilian population," it added. "Those who perpetrated this crime must be held responsible."
At least 14 people were killed and 89 others injured, including 11 children, as a result of Russia’s shelling of the Ukrainian city in the early hours of Sunday, according to an updated toll announced by Ukrainian officials.
A high-rise residential building was partially destroyed, five other apartment buildings leveled and many more damaged in 12 Russian missile attacks, according to regional governor Oleksandr Starukh.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed that those who ordered the strikes would be held responsible, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
He said in a social media post: "Zaporizhzhia again. Merciless strikes on peaceful people again. On residential buildings, just in the middle of the night."
Zelensky added: "Absolute meanness. Absolute evil. Savages and terrorists. From the one who gave this order to everyone who fulfilled this order. They will bear responsibility. For sure. Before the law and before people."
Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska said on Twitter that "by killing civilians, Russia shows its weakness."
The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces said on its Facebook page that "the Russian occupiers cynically struck the residential buildings and civil infrastructure."
