Wczoraj Dave Mustaine wydał oświadczenie, w którym mówi o swoim stanie zdrowia. Lider Megadeth poinformował swoich fanów, że zdiagnozowano u niego raka gardła.
Z całą pewnością jest to moment, który trzeba potraktować bardzo poważnie i stawić mu czoła, ale na swojej drodze spotykałem już różne przeszkody. Wspólnie z lekarzami opracowaliśmy plan leczenia, który według nich ma aż 90% szans na powodzenie. Leczenie już się rozpoczęło - mówi legenda thrash metalu.
W komunikacie artysta poinformował też, że większość z zaplanowanych na ten rok występów Megadeth zostanie odwołana. Zespół nie przestanie natomiast pracować nad nowym albumem, będącym następcą wydanego w 2016 roku krążka "Dystopia", który zdobył nagrodę Grammy.

I’ve been diagnosed with throat cancer. It’s clearly something to be respected and faced head on - but I’ve faced obstacles before. I’m working closely with my doctors, and we’ve mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90% success rate. Treatment has already begun. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Unfortunately, this requires that we cancel most shows this year. The 2019 Megacruise will happen, and the band will be a part of it in some form.
