“Poland wants to become a leader in cybersecurity in the Visegrad Group and within the Three Seas Initiative, and through strengthening the potential of our region at EU level,” Morawiecki was quoted by state news agency PAP as saying.

In a letter read at the opening ceremony of the European Cybersec Forum on Tuesday, Morawiecki also said that the security of the digital market was one of his government’s priorities.

The importance of cybersecurity “for state security, social and economic development is undeniable,” Morawiecki added.

The fifth European Cybersec Forum, hailed by the organizers as the biggest event of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, runs in the southern Polish city of Katowice until Wednesday.
