Of the new cases confirmed on Monday, 83 were in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
Meanwhile, 75 new infections were reported in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
The western province of Wielkopolskie, which is home to the major city of Poznań, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Monday, at 57.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 12 people with pre-existing medical conditions and five who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Sunday, Poland confirmed 46 deaths and 1,075 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with 191 deaths and 1,516 fresh cases a day earlier.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
7,965 in hospitals, 79,649 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Monday morning that 7,965 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 1,092 of them on ventilators, with a further 79,649 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,627,679 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 4,955 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
