On Sunday, Poland’s President Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda started their trip with an unofficial visit to the Vitican, where they paid tribute to John Paul II on the eve of the 44th anniversary of his election as the head of the Catholic Church.

During the visit, the Polish head of state and first lady laid a wreath at the tomb of the late Pope.

As part of the World Food Forum, which begins on Monday, President Andrzej Duda will meet with UN Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Qu Dongyu and give a speech at the event’s plenary session.

On the second day of his visit to Rome, Andrzej Duda will hold another meeting with FAO's Dongyu, an opportunity to take stock of the first day's proceedings and discuss the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on global food supply chains, according to the Polish News Agency PAP.

The World Food Forum (WFF) will be held from 17 to 21 October at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, in Rome, Italy.
