Wages, employment up y/y in Poland in December: stats office

Average wages in Poland rose 6.2 percent in December compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s Central Statistical Office said on Tuesday.

The average gross Polish monthly wage in December was PLN 5,604.25 (EUR 1,319, USD 1,463), the state-run statistics agency reported.

In December 2019, average gross #wages and #salaries in #EnterpriseSector in #Poland amounted to PLN 5,604.25 (increase by 6.2% YoY).

Meanwhile, employment in Polish companies increased 2.6 percent last month on average in year-on-year terms, according to the statistical office.

In December 2019, average paid #employment in #EnterpriseSector in #Poland amounted to 6,396.0 thous. (increase by 2.6% YoY).

The figures are for firms with more than nine employees.

The Polish economy grew 3.9 percent in the third quarter of last year, the Central Statistical Office said in November in a final estimate.
