Entitled "Polish Entrepreneurs in Switzerland: A Recipe for Success," the two-day Polish Economic Forum features a series of debates, meetings and networking opportunities for the business community as well as academics, researchers and local government officials, public broadcaster Polish Radio's IAR news agency reported.

The event has been organised by Poland's embassy in Switzerland.

According to Iwona Kozłowska, Poland's ambassador to Switzerland, the forum seeks to showcase Poland's "enormous potential and ambition," including in the tourism industry.

The aim is to deepen Polish-Swiss links "in terms of bilateral economic cooperation, but also for working together in science and research," given Switzerland's status as a global innovation leader, Kozłowska told reporters ahead of the event.

She said Poland was also interested in becoming a partner for Switzerland in research and development.

Discussions are set to cover Poland's exports to Switzerland and Polish direct investment in that country, in addition to possible new team-ups and closer links between businesses and research institutions in the two countries, notably in sectors such as new technology and crafts, the IAR news agency reported.
