The 19-year-old Pole, ranked world No. 15 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), was eliminated from the Dubai event after suffering a painful 6-0, 6-4 loss to Spain's Garbiñe Muguruza in the round of 16 on Wednesday.

Bowing out of the tournament in the United Arab Emirates, the Polish player thanked her supporters in a social media post and said she has "experienced a lot, achieved a lot, and learned a lot" during the last few weeks.

"So for now it's time to go home," Świątek said.

"See you in Miami," she added.

The 2021 Miami Open begins on March 22 and runs until April 4.

Świątek last month won the Adelaide International tournament in Australia, claiming her second singles title.

Earlier in February, she reached the fourth round of the women’s singles at the 2021 Australian Open, where she lost to Romania's Simona Halep.

The Polish teenager in October won the French Open, claiming her maiden Grand Slam title and becoming the first Pole to lift a Grand Slam singles trophy.
