The Polish world No. 1 defeated Linda Nosková of the Czech Republic 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 in the round of 32.

Świątek will now face Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia for a place in the quarterfinals of the women’s singles competition at this year's Miami Open.

Earlier this month, the Polish player won the BNP Paribas Open tournament at Indian Wells, California, claiming her 19th career singles title.

Świątek last month won the Qatar Open in Doha for the third consecutive time.

The 22-year-old Pole in November regained her spot at the top of the world rankings in women's tennis after winning the season-ending WTA Finals tournament in Mexico.

She now leads the WTA rankings with 10,715 points, ahead of Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, with 8,195 points, and American Coco Gauff, with 7,150.

The 2024 Miami Open runs until March 31.
