The win means that Poland have qualified for the European championships for the sixth consecutive time and ninth overall, the Polish Handball Association said.

The 2024 European Women's Handball Championship will be held from November 28 to December 15 in Hungary, Austria and Switzerland.

The Poles will be looking to improve from their 13th-place finish two years ago in Slovenia, Montenegro and North Macedonia.

Meanwhile, Poland has been selected to co-host the continental tournament in 2026, together with the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey, according to an announcement last month.

In June next year, Poland will host the 2025 Men's Junior (U21) Handball World Championship, according to the Polish Handball Association.
