The CD, released by German label cpo, features Narcisse et Echo, op. 40 and La Princesse ointaine, op. 4 by Russian composer Nikolay Tcherepnin (1873-1945). It was recorded at a concert hall in Bamberg, southern Germany, in May 2018.

In its review, Diapason magazine stressed Borowicz’s skills in exploring the textures of Tcherepnin’s music and achieving a rare clarity of sound.

Born in 1977, Borowicz is a prominent Polish conductor. He served for many years as Music Director of the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is currently Principal Guest Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra in Poznań, western Poland.

He regularly appears with leading European orchestras. He has also developed a career in opera. He has done a great deal to rediscover some almost-forgotten works by composers such as Stanisław Moniuszko, Roman Statkowski, Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński, and Szymon Laks.
