More than 20 works by the likes of Andrzej Borowski, Piotr Butkiewicz and Edward Dwurnik will be put on display at Poland's Permanent Representation to the European Union, in partnership with the Katarzyna Napiórkowska Art Gallery.

The artistic director of the gallery, Justyna Napiórkowska, has told public broadcaster Polish Radio that the exhibition aims to show the "strength and diversity" of Polish contemporary art.

"These paintings are extremely diverse and testify to a search for an artistic form of expression, while also reflecting some very different perceptions of the world,” she said.

At the same time, the paintings are “rooted in reality because even abstract art results from real-life experiences,” Napiórkowska added.

Artists such as Barbara Hubert, Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz and Sergiusz Powałka are also expected to be featured at the show, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
