Millions of American football fans around the world watched as this year’s Super Bowl teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, battled it out on the field amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the Buccaneers ultimately emerging victorious.

The Super Bowl came as the United States saw a dramatic drop in new coronavirus cases, news outlets reported.

By Sunday, the virus had killed almost 460,000 people across the nation.
