Frederic Leclerc-Imhoffa, a journalist for the French station BFM TV, has been shot dead in Luhansk Oblast.
He was covering the evacuation of civilians from Luhansk in eastern Ukraine, when an evacuation car came under fire from Russian soldiers.
Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, was in Ukraine at the time and demanded a "full a transparent investigation" of the 32-year-old's death.
Leclerc-Imhoffa is the second French journalist to have died covering the war in Ukraine.
