The station, called Polish Radio for Ukraine, is also available worldwide via DAB+ digital technology, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Launched in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it can also be listened to on VHF frequencies in Ukraine, thanks to transmitters in the capital Kyiv and the eastern Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Moreover, Polish Radio for Ukraine can be heard through the public broadcaster’s web player, mobile app and the moje.polskieradio.pl website, the IAR news agency reported.

News, commentary, music

Catering to the needs of refugees from Ukraine and Poland’s Ukrainian community, Polish Radio for Ukraine offers news, commentary and music content.

Listeners are kept up to date with events in Ukraine, including the situation in Russian-occupied areas. The station also provides information and advice to refugees from the war-torn country, including on how to deal with paperwork and obtain assistance in Poland.

Half of Polish Radio for Ukraine’s programming is created and presented by journalists from the Ukrainian Section of Polish Radio’s External Service, also known as Radio Poland.

These broadcasts are aired from Radio Poland’s Warsaw studios every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to officials.

Warsaw, Łódź, Wrocław, Białystok

Polish Radio for Ukraine can be listened to on FM bands in the capital Warsaw (100.6 MHz), the central city of Łódź (94.40 MHz), the southwestern city of Wrocław (100.70 MHz) and the northeastern city of Białystok (94.,80 MHz), the IAR news agency reported.

'Polish Radio for Ukraine project has been a success'

“The Polish Radio for Ukraine project has been a success for Polish public radio broadcasting,” said Andrzej Rybałt, director of Radio Poland.

He added: “We have reached refugees from Ukraine with credible information, as well as with programmes on social, economic and cultural issues. The scale of the positive response from listeners has taken us by surprise.”

Polish Radio also offers programmes for Ukraine on its other stations, digitally and on FM, as well as online, according to executives.

The public broadcaster’s programming for Ukraine has earned appreciation from Ukraine’s media regulator and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, executives have said.

Wednesday is day 252 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
